Ashley Boxer is the founder and president of The Boxer Strategy

A respected leader in external affairs, she has built her career at the intersection of business, government, and corporate social responsibility, bringing together cross-sector partners to expand social impact, enhance visibility and drive measurable results.

Before launching The Boxer Strategy in 2022, Ashley served as Vice President of External Affairs for Broward Health, overseeing government relations, public affairs, and the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale. Her previous roles include Assistant City Manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale, Corporate Director of Government Relations for Memorial Healthcare System, and Corporate Manager of Government and Community Relations for Baptist Health South Florida.

Ashley began her career in the nonprofit sector,

where she oversaw fundraising and development for the National Kidney Foundation of Florida and lead marketing and communications efforts across South Florida for the American Heart Association. She later advanced into senior external affairs and leadership roles across healthcare and government, including Broward Health, Memorial Healthcare System, Baptist Health South Florida and the City of Fort Lauderdale. This multidisciplinary background shaped her expertise in external affairs, stakeholder engagement, government relations and corporate social responsibility.

A respected leader in her field, Ashley has received numerous professional and civic honors, including Lifestyle Magazine’s Women of Influence, the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida’s Emerald Award, The Education Fund’s Public School Alumni Achievement Award, and Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward’s Mother of the Year Award. She was also named to the University of Florida’s Inaugural 40 Gators Under 40, South Florida Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, and American City Business Journals’ Rising Stars Influencers lists. In 2020, she was selected for Florida Blue Key as an Honorary Tap, one of the most prestigious honors at the University of Florida.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in telecommunications news from the University of Florida and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, attorney Michael Lessne, and their daughter.

Her community work is centered in board leadership and strategic guidance across key regional institutions.

She currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Pace Center for Girls – Broward, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, and Zoo Miami Foundation . She also contributes to Broward Health Foundation, United Way Broward, Leadership Florida, and Leadership Broward through committee leadership, mentorship, and programming support.

Her service reflects a commitment to empowering women and girls, elevating nonprofit capacity, and fostering cross-sector collaboration that benefits South Florida’s communities.
